It’s crazy too, because the instructions said that you were able to disagree with the readings, but they just had to provide good reasoning. You can mention religion and its influence on gender norms, but you also have to base it in other reasoning.
This is hilarious to me because:
- The writing was shit, and I wrote better in 6th grade
- There were no citations
- She barely engaged with the text
- She didn’t meet the word requirement (apparently)
Like, she could’ve said “I believe that gender norms found in scripture are beneficial to society, AND HERES WHY,” but she was just like “god said so, and people that disagree are demonic.” The essay was ass.

Yeah, and l understand that it’s not completely reasonable for someone to be able to prove every single belief they have, but maybe then don’t bring it up in a COLLEGE ESSAY
