I got an IQ test when I was younger and as someone who scored really high I can tell you that they’re total bullshit and basically reflect nothing more than how well you happened to click with the test

Can someone explain to me why there is this weird and sudden discussion about people’s IQ when that shit is not entirely relevant to politics, let alone society? i do not know one person irl who has had legitimate psychological testing for IQ results.

If there were 2 doctors with all things equal except iq, I’m picking the one with a higher iq

here’s the thing though: imagine that the one with a higher IQ has worse bedside manner, thinks they know better than you and don’t listen to your concerns, and they’re just ultimately as asshole… while the doctor with an average or above average IQ excels in those areas and simply has a smaller practice but more dedicated patient population. Would their IQ really matter to you if one is a mean & dismissive doctor while the other is open to your concerns and takes you seriously.

they could have all things equal in terms of education, degrees, hospital location, reputation in the field, accolades galore, and everything on paper is the same except their IQ… but none of that will take into account their people skills.
