You’d be surprised at the amount of westerners who live in places like Canada or the US who hate on immigrants due to corporate greed jacking up prices and say stuff like “I can’t wait to leave”. Like so the immigrant from India or Venezuela is wrong for immigrating from a place systematically destroyed by the west but you’re perfectly reasonable for wanting to leave your perfectly fine first world country?
You’d be surprised at the number of Indians that end up deciding to go back to India after coming here due to certain cultural norms which they dislike like the lack of community among neighbors, etc. India isn’t as bad as Venezuela. My parents are Indian though and they left India for multiple reasons including better job opportunities with higher pay, less competition to get into better higher education, more efficient bureaucracy, less corruption, etc.
My mom also felt safer as a woman here coming from Delhi. Though other Indian cities are better. Since they left though a lot has changed. They still hate traveling to India. It’s funny but I was considering immigrating back to India but my parents convinced me not to. Will definitely do some traveling there. There are also a lot of Indians in Persian Gulf countries 🇴🇲🇦🇪🇶🇦🇧🇭🇸🇦🇰🇼 but many prefer here and I still prefer here over those countries or even Malaysia or Indonesia.
What you said is right though. I still prefer here to India even if I considered moving there in the past. People in Canada hate on Indians so much and Brampton, Ontario has experienced white flight because of them. I was considering moving to Canada as well but eventually decided on Australia because it’s easier to get into an SLP graduate program there.
