It is very clear that this man has mental health issues. Chicago is not a dangerous city and I absolutely hate when you all find random incidents to push that narrative. Over 2,000,000 ppl live in Chicago, of course there is going to be incidents.
Genuinely, wtf do we do about this? Bro was arrested twice in 4 months for aggravated assault/use of a deadly weapon. Let out of jail within 12 hr both times. Arrested over 10 times 😭

I genuinely get that. I’m a huge advocate for public transit. But people are scared to take it sometimes because of stuff like this, so something does need to be done. I’m not sure how this guy managed to escape conviction so many times

Ong dude I get the same comments about Saint Louis from people who have never been here. This is just part of living in a very densely populated area in a country that has bad healthcare and social services.

Im not disagreeing that something needs to be done. However there is a national need to have better mental health services. This isn’t a failure on Chicago but the country in general. He keeps getting out of jail because his episodes unfortunately dont warrant him to be in there for years. Im simply saying this is not a Chicago issue but a national problem.

Chicago is not dangerous. Every city in America (at least major city) has its unsafe areas. That is because of years of redlining, deprivation of resources, over policing, etc. I can honestly say that yes there are places in Chicago that I avoid, however largely in general I feel very safe. Again you are expecting a community of over 2 million people to not have issues or conflict and thats unrealistic.
