The numbers just don’t support that. I’m more under the impression that Harris and Clinton lost because of their “stage appearances” rather than their policies. But I could be wrong

Because their candidates were Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. Obama won because he had a personality people loved (or some hated). Trump won because he has a personality people (somehow) love (and many hate). You could have someone with the “perfect” policies run and lose to someone with horrible polices so long as the latter has more charisma and persuasion than the former
