Was knocking doors yesterday and talked to this guy about my age, he said was voting Republican because he “can’t get behind the extreme shit the Democrats push”, I asked for examples and it was literally this. They don’t research. Just watch Fox News.

What is worse is that by doing this, republicans frame Socialism as “outside of discussion”. It happens like this: A republican says “Democrats want Socialism!!” A democrat responds “No! I’m a true blue American, just like you!” Now both parties have condemned Socialism, one in its accusation and another in its denial. This moves the Overton Window to the right, causing the political climate as a whole to be more right wing
