So what he says in the interview is not spending a disproportionate amount of time on pronouns. That’s not a cultural norm for most Americans to be thinking about the pronouns of non-binary or trans people in their day-to-day lives. Instead we should focus on stuff that all Americans can engage in like table top issues.

so 1) didnt define culturally normal, just said "pronouns have too much time" basically and 2) is it suddenly impossible to respect nonconforming gender identities AND cover broad issues? and 3) who is spending a disproportionate amount of time on pronouns. what does that look like. who has campaigned or spoken so fervently on that issue.

1) he didn't define it in the clip I saw maybe in the full interview ( that I'm still looking for) he did. I'm using the context he gave to assume what hes saying. 2) he didn’t say it was impossible he just said we should focus on table top issues. 3) I think republicans do I think they want democrats to do so in general bc | think they know that it's difficult ground to fight on. I think by coming out and saying this he doesn't have to fight on culture war-
