The south is not the scapegoat for everything wrong with America. The rust belt and Midwest voted for these monsters just as much as the south did. The north and west pioneered our history of xenophobia. Racism is a national problem. And when we lie to ourselves and act as if the south did it all, you ignore the bigotry in your own back yard.
