these are the people killing actual climate action, BTW. Meat (while theoretically replaceable) is an excellent food source, and overall, healthy and only makes up 12-20% of global emissions

the people killing the climate movement hire hitmen and private militias to kill protestors in the Global South. they’re fossil fuel and automotive executives, agribusiness executives, and defense executives. they are not people on a forums app telling you to eat less meat. can we please focus on real issues?

and my original post said to eat less meat, not cut it out entirely. y’all are just stubborn and stupid tbh

do you understand the general public has repeatedly proved its incapability of focusing on multiple aspects of an issue let alone nuance? Like you know that the “ I don’t know if we’ll be able to get rid of farting cows in time” line from a single democratic email is what initially killed any type of climate progress that was being made under the Obama administration with pretty widespread support?

there’s also just the argument that people shouldn’t have to change their diet simply because several companies and oil executives refuse any sort of meaningful action. Like it’s less than 20% of the global footprint yet supplies around 20% of the global calories, obviously farming is a bit more efficient, but there are much more effective ways of cutting global emissions that isn’t gonna piss off the majority of the country

so did i do that, or did corporate media (also owned by fossil fuel interests) do that?

telling y’all not to drive pisses y’all off too. again, you’re either too stubborn or too stupid. it cannot be both, so please pick one. it’s not me that holds the climate movement back, it’s those who hold power and those who are unwilling to change. get with it or get out of the fucking way

i’m saying you’re just giving them more fuel to kill climate action by targeting something that the majority of people do not support. That being cutting animal consumption.

yeah, and how has that worked out? Telling people they’re stupid stubborn and to get the fuck out of the way? We’ve made great strides for climate change because of this action thank you!

we’ve made no stride thanks to the west. most of the climate progress as of late has come from the so-called developing world. meanwhile the developed world has continued to make excuses for its collective inaction. i’m not telling people they’re stupid, i’m telling *you* you’re stupid. most people irl are pretty reasonable when you talk to them

they don’t need fuel. they’ll do what’s profitable, and that means destroying the climate movement

And I’m telling you that you’re a stubborn jackass that actually isn’t getting anything done by telling people to eat less meat. I went and looked up the numbers 75 to 80% of Americans have expressed interest in increasing public transportation Compare compared to 23 to 28% of Americans who support actively reducing meat consumption. You’re an idiot, screaming to avoid who’s actively hurting the cause that you champion by proposing measures that people hate.

but why advocate for something that is extremely unpopular, has proven to be detrimental to your cause in terms of public support, that also just kinda makes you look like an asshole? Like self-righteousness isn’t doing shit for the Climate. Think tactically.

y’all are the ones who assume that i do these things to feel better than the rest. i do not. i do them because i want to actively negate the harm that i do, and because i know that when the day comes that the west finally acts, i will already be in the position i need to be. also, it’s just healthier for me and much more economical. y’all are the ones who bring morality into a conversation that it is absent from. the scientific consensus points towards reducing animal agriculture and shifting

away from fossil fuels. take the morals and shove them. the people claiming that i am trying to moral grandstand are the ones actually engaging in the act. are you defending inaction for yourself and to appease others, or are you trying to alter human behavior? something tells me it’s the former, and that you care more for aesthetics and comfort than function
