The cotton gin is a tool, not a governing institution that gives some people disproportionate political power. The question isn't whether something was created in a society with slavery it's whether the thing's original purpose and structure justify keeping it today. The cotton gin doesn't give some Americans more political representation than others. The Senate does. Moron
That’s a justification, not proof that the Senate is necessary. You’re assuming that giving a minority of the population disproportionate political power creates unity, but it can just as easily create resentment when legislation supported by a majority of Americans is repeatedly blocked. Why should we automatically prioritize protecting a minority from being outvoted over ensuring that every American has an equal say in their government?
Imagine arguing that a minority group should get disproportionate political power simply because they’re a minority. You’d probably object to that principle in other contexts, so why is it automatically justified when the minority in question happens to live in less-populated states? Protecting minority rights is important. But protecting people's rights is not the same thing as guaranteeing some citizens more voting power than others. Actually demonstrate why the senate is necessary
