Because all of them have been contingent on the fact that a left wing candidate is president. We want criticism of the government banned after they take office to keep republicans from riling each other up with speech that’d otherwise be legal.

Nikolai Vavilov is one of my personal heroes. He was a Soviet agricultural scientist who dedicated his life to preventing famine. He was sent to a gulag where he starved to death by Stalin for not supporting the pseudo-scientific beliefs of Stalin-favored Trofim Lysenko

Like that isn’t just going to affect those further right than the government it’s going to affect anyone with literally any grievances with the current government. Not only that but it indirectly bans campaigns from ANYONE that differ at all from the current administration. I guarantee that government would corrupt itself from the inside within a decade if not earlier and move right becoming arguably worse than the current Republican Party

The Soviet government murdered a hero to the world for not supporting bunk methods of growing wheat, because that wheat pseudoscience was what Stalin supported.
