I am aware of captive dreamer Does it say what country that account is from? Is it even the US? I couldn’t explain to you why Vance follows that account, or what he gets from giving so much attention to liars and racists and bad actors. But at this time, I don’t believe that Vance actually views different races or skin colors as less than him.

I think he’s an opportunistic racist. He spread the lies about Haitians easily enough. Vance I think has very few true values. He seems to have been a pretty normal person once, but he happily threw in with those he knew were evil to gain political prestige

And in the end, if you’re willing to throw yourself in with white supremacists for a political leg up, you’re probably racist. I mean for fucks sake his entire political career was funded by Peter Thiel, who has worked to install white supremacists at Cambridge.

So despite him refusing to condemn republicans who called POC racial slurs, and him following people who openly support eugenics, there must be a more reasonable explanation besides he agrees?

I feel like I understand Trump and Biden and Obama and Bush as people, more or less. I have an idea of what lines they are willing to cross and not cross. Vance seems pretty out there. I think I understand some of where he fits, but there’s a lot that I just don’t trust. I think he is highly highly intelligent, and plays games with low iq politics. Opportunistic racist might not be the worst way to describe his conduct in recent years.

It’s possible he agrees. It’s possible he agrees sometimes and other times doesn’t care, or wants to test the person he’s interacting with. Watching him, I think he plays games and enjoys being a troll, and not apologizing. He’s like an Ivy League alt-right Machiavelli type stuff, not quite as simple as ‘white guy good brown guy bad’

I think that’s misunderstanding power hungry people. The opportunist does not care if you are racist. They do not have an opinion on race. They want power. There is an ideological distinction. If all bad actors are racists, and that’s the extent of your personality analysis, you’re not going to have a very deep understanding of all these people who have less in common than you think. Your ability to predict their actions or threat level will be washed out.
