I respect anyone’s right to be religious, and all that I ask in return is that they respect that I am not. Unfortunately, many of them cannot do that. Because their religion taught them that I’m gonna get tortured for eternity and they wanna “help” me.
I respect all religions. Any of my criticisms towards them is about the practices that have a negative effect on other people and I feel like I explicitly say that but people act like I’m attacking their sense/idea of god

Also I get making space for people to join them if they wanted but that’s so different from forcing your religion onto people. and it doesn’t really prove how “faithful” they are if it’s only used to feed a superiority complex

I have a coworker who’s super religious, and also the nicest guy in the office. Just a complete ray of sunshine. He knows I just recently moved to the city we live in, and that I’m struggling to get the hang of my job because I’m new and everyone struggles at first. He was suggesting some things to do off the clock to help with my mindset and he was like “hit the gym, eat good food, get good sleep, pray on it—wait, are you religious?” And when I said no, he never pushed me on it.

Be like my coworker. He doesn’t push me, sometimes he’ll say that he’s gonna keep me in his prayers, like when I was sick last week and he texted me asking why I wasn’t at our weekly meeting. But that’s as far as it goes because he respects me enough not to assume I just don’t know any better.
