I respect all religions. Any of my criticisms towards them is about the practices that have a negative effect on other people and I feel like I explicitly say that but people act like I’m attacking their sense/idea of god

I honestly believe Christianity is a moral negative, at least in America. For all their preaching I don’t notice any significant difference in the morality or goodness of Christian’s as opposed to secular people. With that being dead even and Christians, on average, being opposed to equality for homosexuals and the freedom of secular Americans to access healthcare, they are a net negative.

Dude cry about it, religion and politics have been deeply intertwined since before the words even existed.

Normally that’s the case but this post in particular has 0 connection to politics.

You cannot talk about societies relationship to different religions without discussing politics.

I’m sorry you’re upset. I know it can be tough to be called out

I mean I deal with irritating people on here all the time but I’ll live 😅 if you’re not gonna go run to the moderators with your complaint maybe respond to my point above while you’re here? You seem upset enough to maybe be Christian and I’d love to know your opinion abt the point I made

I’ve run to the moderators already and your response is too riddled with mistakes to address. Also, please don’t assume my religious affiliation. Thank you.

Well let’s see if they can deliver you some justice then lmao. Something isn’t a mistake because you disagree with it. Do you believe it is true or false that increasing Christian influence in America is a net negative for the wellbeing of our citizens? Why or why not?

Me agreeing with it or not didn't have an effect on it’s accuracy. It's riddled with objective cognitive Diasses.

Is that a typo? What is a cognitive diass?

Dude just be honest and say that you refuse to address it because you don’t like the question. Every statement ever made by a human being is full of bias. The point of a conversation is to talk about ideas of claims and their merits. I’ve made a claim that you can either agree with or disagree with, my bias doesn’t negate that reality

Just negates my desire to fully engage with it because it’s worse than the ones I normally see

Your question is one I see repeated a million times on the internet every day. Nothing is wrong with the question.

I know nothing is wrong with the question lmao, that’s why I was confused when you claimed there was. It’s probably asked frequently because it’s top of mind as we see the harms arising from Christian influence and fail to see substantial benefits. If you have an opinion to share I’d be curious to hear it

The biggest flaw with your original post, and the persistent shortcomings of people in your camp, is the inclination to draw broad conclusions from a selective set of issues. If you’re judging Christianity by its worst political manifestations, you should also account for its role in abolition, the civil rights movement, and charitable work. You can criticize opposition to LGBTQ+ equality or healthcare access without concluding that Christianity as a whole is a net moral negative.

The relevant comparison is the actual effects of religious belief versus secular alternatives, not just the shortcomings of one side.
