It’s kind of wild how many iconic people were socialists or communists and that’s just not acknowledged. MLK Jr., Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo (literally dated Trotsky), George Orwell, Woody Guthrie (wrote This Land is Your Land).

Social democracy mixes the two into a market economy regulated by the government (when need be) that supports public welfare that is also regulated by the government. A solid system that works in many countries

I’m behind social democracy, I just don’t hold much hope left that it’ll expand beyond NYC. I want to be wrong, and I usually am about things like this.

Mamdani is a beacon of what the US could be. Did you see he balanced the budget with no loss to services. He actually just cleaned up excess spending like politicians should.
