They’re regulated and verified by third parties

They absolutely can be corrupt, but we have overwhelming amounts of data indicating that the vaccines are safe and effective. saying as such does not represent blind faith in big pharma, and you know that.

Dude, believing it’s bad that the president floated the concept of injecting disinfectant to the entire American public is not the same as “trusting big pharma”.

“Big Pharma” is wayyyyyy more scientific and humane than “big insurance” Not that there isn’t lobbying and corporate bs going on in big pharma. But the insurance side of things is where all the money is

I get that Trump said that and it’s stupid, but what does that have to do with big pharma? Can we not cherry pick skepticism?

being skeptical of medical treatment that has overwhelming amounts of data showing it’s safe and effective is just stupid.

I think vaccines are generally safe, but America is a country of choice where we are allowed to question anything without being forced into a way of life. Not saying that always happens in practice, but freedom makes this country great. There are rare cases of people with adverse side effects to specific vaccines and families should know the benefits and risks so they can choose what’s best for them and their kids.

If a jahovahs witness chooses not to do a life saving blood transfusion on their child, because they believe if god wants their child to die it’s divine will, and a sin to mix blood, is it their right to allow their child to die?

Any conversation that involves the risks will result in a dramatic overestimation of the actual probability of encountering side effects. The human brain basically can’t comprehend large numbers and the probabilities that come with them, and will invariably inflate the likelihood of any vaccine side effect when making a value calculation. This is why the lottery makes money.

to be clear, I’m not saying we shouldn’t make information about the risks available, but i’m trying to illustrate that it’s a nuanced issue, and that overwhelmingly it is objectively in your best interest to get vaccinated, essentially all the time.

The state shouldn’t infringe on cultural and religious freedoms. You are arguing that the child WILL die if they don’t get vaccinated. Even if the data is correct, you still shouldn’t be forced an injection but rather highly encouraged. People are quick to give up freedom of choice without knowing it’s hard to get back because one day, the government will make bad choices and you will be forced to comply.

So you’re in favor of someone choosing their religion over their child’s life?

Do you really think our experts and leaders always have our best interests and public health and safety as their top priority? Sometimes they are just in it to make money and leave. Maybe the parent is making a bad choice for the child, but it is better than the alternative. If the case is a vaccine actually being worse for the child, but the parent is forced to comply, that is also a terrible scenario that needs to be acknowledged.

Experts? Yeah, they’ve dedicated their lives to understanding something specific. Our leaders? No, they’ve dedicated their lives to convincing people they have all the answers
