TO BE FAIR, he really did just pose a question like “if we have disinfectants like bleach, why can’t we have one that we can inject into our arms to kill the virus” and FOR SOME REASON PEOPLE TOOK THAT AS THE PRESIDENT TELLING THEM TO PUT BLEACH IN THEIR ARMS AND THEN THEY DID IT. ITS NOT TRUMP’S FAULT PEOPLE ARE MORE DUMB THAN EVEN HIM

I feel like that’s giving him too much credit and too little agency imo. He’s the world’s most powerful and influential public figure, it’s literally his job to know better.

Yeah but he was just straight up asking a question. It was poorly worded but he was doing his best with what little info on the subject he had. It’s really not his fault people took a dumb question and turned it into a commandment. Hell if those people would have watched the whole thing and heard the answer they’d know why they SHOULD NOT INJECT BLEACH INTO THEIR BODIES. Learning is an important skill people

I’d argue he did. No reasonable person would hear that and think it’s a decree that injecting bleach is safe. And no reasonable person did that. So he’s good. The dumb fucks that did that just won a Darwin Award in my eyes

Your job as president isn’t to word your public statements for the reasonable people. Because I’m sorry man but there’s a lot of idiots out there. You have to be able to phrase your language so those idiots don’t kill themselves. That’s part of his job.

Didn’t say that. But tbh in this case no he doesn’t. Him asking a question and other people being stupid isn’t his fault. I’d argue media coverage that presented his question as saying it’s safe to inject bleach has some liability here though. He’s an evil horrible person. A dumbass, and dangerous. But I’m not going to let false precedents be set based off his stupidity tho

How many fucking times has he done that though. Asked a ‘stupid question’ or made a ‘stupid joke’ that his base takes seriously that we see gets enacted into law a few months later. Because it’s way too many times that people rush to defend him when it’s a pattern of behavior
