I’m leftists “being mean” pushed you right you were always right wing
The problem with the Democratic Party is that they feel the need to constantly morality check and police others and whenever someone disagrees with them they start screaming that they are a racist, homophobic, sexist etc. pushing moderates more right

They’re not wrong about the constant purity tests, it’s fucking annoying. The right doesn’t do that, and that’s why people are easily drawn to them

The left has its flaws but just because I see some random woman say “all men are bad” doesnt make me want to deport all immigrants

I’m more talking about the infighting amongst the left and the lack of willingness to educate others. I see what you mean though

Lack of educating I get but it can be frustrating to be told to educate someone who hates your very existence (also the right has crazy amounts of infighting they just unite for elections)

“The right doesn’t do that” The right calls me slurs.

Oh I don’t doubt that at all and I’m sorry to hear that. What I was getting at is they unify on common ground, take you in, and try convince you of their other beliefs. The impression a newcomer to the left gets is “oh you believe XYZ? fucking bootlicker. educate yourself, google is free”

Okay, there’s a few problems with that though. I try to refrain from saying anything like that with people on the right *until* they say something like how they enjoy the admin putting the military in cities, or supporting ICE. In that scenario, am I not supposed to call them a bootlicker?

No, that’s valid. There are some people who don’t even wait until that point

And my point is, there are people on the right who call me slurs without waiting. Am I making sense? As a disabled queer person, I don’t see how I can be anything but left when there’s prominent people on the right that legitimately would want me in a camp.

No, I completely understand. What I’m getting at is that there are some people on the left who simply act abrasively. It’s not a majority, but a small (yet vocal minority). I’m on the left as well. It’s just a problem I’ve noticed that I fear has not helped us lately. Responses like “educate yourself”, “read theory”, “read <author who has written a fuck ton>”. There are some characters in this community who are guilty of exactly this

Okay, yeah, I won’t deny that. And that is something of a problem. Buts for me that’s a bit low on the priority list as of now.
