I was very happy to see that infrastructure bill put forward, but disappointed to see republicans neuter it simply to prevent democrats from having a win. Unsafe infrastructure endangers us all, regardless of our party.

As an engineer, I think the greatest policy issue we’re facing that doesn’t get a spotlight is the maintenance of our infrastructure. People should be getting pretty nervous crossing bridges around now.

Republicans need the government to be ineffective, because otherwise people won’t want to privatize things. Conservatism is built on “government doing things is bad.”

I feel like we need a state by state breakdown, because the average can have so many outliers. Some cities (like Flint) have replaced tons of water pipes and would bring the average down, but others could be reallyyyy old and bring the average up

Louisiana republicans would rather their constituents drown than have them alive at democrats’ hands.

Oh boy I love the private fire department, they didn’t stop a fire next door from burning down my house too because I’m registered with a different company!

Oh my god that’s terrifying! Where do you live that fire departments aren’t volunteers and public?

I don’t, I’m just pointing out what would happen if they weren’t public. Also what used to happen when they were private.

I think in some major cities they’re not volunteer, but idk how that works
