well i mean. if you’re a black person yeah it would make sense you’re more likely to be vigilant for signs of racism and dog whistles that, if you haven’t had to worry about it, you don’t think about those things.

if anything, on purpose or not, you’d be hallucinating to deny that the light on the skirt looks like a klan hood silhouette. and no one is saying there’s literally a hanging person there just that at a quick glance that’s what they saw and maybe because their brain made the automatic association after seeing a klan hood

i don’t think it matters too much if they meant to do it or not— people see something disturbing in it so they should take it down assess how they can avoid disturbing imagery in the future and move on
