My problem with Christianity is the focus on how your only reason for living is to get something good after you die. The other 2 Abrahamic religions for all their faults don’t do this

The agnostic experience in America really is just being condescended to by Christians all the time. ‘Oh you’re unsure? Well I know the truth for a fact and I can help you’ like no dude, I’m not a Christian purely because I do understand your religion

Still better than Judaism and Islam. At least Christians aren’t trying to implement an equivalent of sharia law everywhere. And for Judaism, they believe anyone who is not Jewish (ethnically) is an idolater or “gentile”. In that regards I’ll take a Christian nation any day to avoid being prosecuted, outcasted, or worse.

Dude shariah law in actuality isn’t any more repressive than Christianity in actuality, it is the people like the taliban or our current theocratic leaning government that give their host religions a bad rap. There’s no reason faux Christianity couldn’t be any bit as repressive as faux shariah laws. Both can be and have been interpreted in ways designed to repress women by men who wish to do that, independent of actual religious adhesion

They absolutely are what are you talking about 😭. States outlawing abortion, all the gay rights like marriage and adoption that were not legal for a long time, Putting the ten commandments and teaching the bible in public schools, banning books, etc. the Evangelical Christian community wants a very oppressive system of governance
