 Not to get political but I genuinely care so much about SpongeBob. It’s a zombie that’s taken on a whole new life form after Nickelodeon spammed the SpongeBob button following Stephen Hillenburgs death. The 2004 movie was its INTENDED FINALE and now?????

i would argue he has always acted lobotomized but only in recent seasons he has been on increasing doses of stimulant medication.

In the original pitch for Spongebob (yes I’ve watched it help I’m obsessed) Patrick was intended to be a sort of ‘mentor’ figure to Spongebob. He’d go to Patrick for advice, and the joke is Patrick would give horrible advice because he’s a dumbass, chaos ensues. This idea was most apparent in season 1 and obviously departed from it, but NOW instead of acting like a dumbass adult he acts like a poopy pants toddler who likes eating.
