Bro thinks putting the cows in free range will get rid of the bacteria 😂 who gonna tell them germs are everywhere
You can get raw milk that’s JUST AS CLEAN as pasteurized milk SIMPLY by treating the animals well

As someone who works with dairy cattle: they poop all over. They have very wet, loose poop. The older Holstein breed standard includes a low-hanging udder. When milking, we clean the teats as much as possible, but shit happens, literally. Milk is a great place for lots of bacteria and other little guys to breed, and especially if you don’t have a crazy strong immune system that’s used to those particular pathogens, you can get pretty dang sick! Boiling milk kills the pathogens.

Yeah that makes perfect fucking sense doesn’t it, cows can’t get sick from cows, humans can’t get sick from humans, yes that was a very intelligent point you really got me there I’m actually on ur side let’s start marketing raw human milk because it really is quite nutritious I mean it literally contains everything a human needs

Not you purposefully misunderstanding my point 💀. Interspecies infections exist, obviously, or we wouldn’t have flu season or or COVID. Gestation, a mother’s immune system is connected to the baby’s immune system. So when mothers breastfeed their babies, they’re not giving them any more germs than they already fucking had before. If a woman who isn’t that child’s birth mom breastfeeds the child, they could very well get sick.

The CDC acknowledges that a vast majority of milk-related illnesses are related to poor practices rather than the innate properties of raw milk itself

“Milk-related illnesses” are bacterial contamination of the milk. Bacteria live in the raw milk until it’s boiled, making it innate to the raw milk. Why? Because the cows the milk comes from have bacteria. You can’t actually be this stupid and be in a college, i’m guessing you either skipped or failed bio 101 😂

I don’t think you understand how stupid what u just said was. The DANGEROUS BACTERIA are NOT innate to raw milk hence why the CDC admits it has more to do with poor practices rather than raw milk in general

I don’t think you understand how stupid you are in general LMAO. Any bacteria on the cow is going to be innate to the milk, because the milk comes from the fucking cow. And cows can get bacteria from LITERALLY anywhere. Water, soil, grass, air, passing birds, mosquitos, flies. Literally anywhere that exists has germs

The milk comes from inside the cow. The cow that has bacteria both inside it and outside it. Do you not know how milk is produced dude? Like genuinely did you ever learn about old macdonald’s farm, or did you just flunk out of elementary school? Seriously you should consider quitting college now, it’s really not for people like you.

They can briefly touch the outside, and the germs from the outside can move on their udders and go inside the cow. As an aside, do you think only the outside of cows have germs?

I don’t know if u guys realize ur proving my point, most cow milk is like swamp water so it should be pasturized, I literally agree with you I’m just saying if the cow is healthy and raised well (and btw raw milk can be TESTED) then the milk can be as safe as pasturized milk, kinda like how 99% of water on earth needs sterilized or filtered or whatever but there still exist natural springs

There’s no point to prove dude. You don’t even know your point. There. Is. No. Way. To. Get. A. Germ. Free. Cow. That’s literally it. It is always going to have germs, just like you’re always gonna be the village idiot of whatever group you’re in because you literally can’t admit you’re wrong in the face of 150+ years of very settled and simple science

Okay so in order to be legal something g needs to be ONE HUNDRED PERCENT safe? Just like all the eggs, chicken, cereal, flour, and everything else at the store that is 100% safe?

Of course not, but why are you picking the thing that’s maybe verifiably less safe? According to the CDC, pasteurized milk has accounted for 32 hospitalizations over 16 years. Raw milk accounted for 202 over 20 years, as well as 2700 illnesses. I think it’s clear which is safer.

Well I agree, but that’s blanket stats on both, it doesn’t account for the difference in quality, I am buying from a farm I know is healthy, not just random raw milk, which I would never do because I know of the dangers, I’m not unreasonable I swear

Boiling milk (to pasteurize it) literally doesn’t take away any of the nutrients, but stay stuck on stupid thinking diva

Anonymous replying to -> OP 11w

It literally does, do actual research not just asking google “does pasteurizing milk take away nutrients” Lactoferrin is a protein that helps your body fight pathogens and regulate iron and it is destroyed during pasteurization, so the process that “destroys pathogens” literally also destroys nutrients that fight against said pathogens And that’s just a single example

upvote 3 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #3 11w

Yes, it also denatures some of the stuff in the milk, but if it’s really important, we can just add it back. I’m not a hundred percent sure if there is any important stuff that doesn’t make it through pasteurization? But if there is, it can just be added back in after. The ability to modify and reinforce foods is an amazing thing

Child mortality rates in pre-industrial civilizations and amongst wild animals are exceptionally high; not unbearable, but high. And not from milk alone, but risks from milk contributes. The difference between pasteurized and unpasteurized milks lethality is several thousand times

Good thing the body naturally produces lactoferrin in bodily secretions. You don’t need it to in your diet. As for other minerals like B12 and folate that may be depleted during the pasteurization process, unless your diet consists of only milk i’d say you can find those vitamins in abundance in plenty of other foods.

Am I making the point that raw milk has nutrients that can’t be found in anything else? Obviously not that would be stupid, just because ur body produces something in small amounts doesn’t mean taking in more of it isn’t helpful.

Anonymous replying to -> #1 11w

Your claim hinges on the concept that the benefits of raw milk outweigh the risks because it contains minor amounts of a compound that’s literally synthesized by your immune cells already. It’s absolutely ridiculous. If you want lactoferrin, they make supplements. Which is way safer than trying to drink raw milk that could potentially be contaminated with Listeria or E. coli and kill you, or at least cause hospitalization. Yk what won’t kill you? Low levels of lactoferrin.

They literally have pasteurized milk fortified w calcium, vitamin B12, folates, etc. All the things that these idiots claim get killed by pasteurization. Also it’s not like you can’t get those vitamins through other dietary sources. These people are morons

Ur body can hardly extract nutrients from pills the way it can from Whole Foods, also being deficient in nutrients may not directly kill you, but I want to thrive during my life, not feel like shit, and prevent chronic illness later in life due to constant lack of proper nutrition, the benefits absolutely outweigh the risks especially if you get good quality raw milk
