Omfg- as a trans person, HRT lowers the testosterone in our body, our bone density changes, our strength changes. Trans women especially are heavily monitored to ensure their hormones are in proper range.
you’re mad cause you got 6th to one person? this feels like crazy copium. it’s not like the other people in the top 4 were people who were born with more than average testosterone . Why didn’t you get better? You can’t outtrain one trans person?

the argument about trans women in sports is genuinely so braindead & stems exclusively from people seeing transitioning as a choice rather than a treatment.

It never goes down to the level of a cis woman though. Both in terms of strength, muscle mass, bone density, stature. Would you be ok if someone doped for years, and all of a sudden stopped for six months and claimed to be equal to the rest of the competition? Of course not. I’d just treat it like the NBA or NFL. The NBA is an open league, not a men’s. Can have anyone that wants to join, even cis women if they could(but they can’t because the difference of a male puberty is that severe).

And yet you are born with different physicalities and many of yall go through puberty which solidifies those physicalities. Be honest here, HRT doesn’t reverse being what sex you actually are.

?? That’s the reason they are separated by the sexes. Women are a protected class. You aren’t unfair if you happen to be a half inch taller in basketball. But it is if you went through a male/female puberty. The level of difference is so much so that it’s legitimately unfair to female athletes

I truly don’t understand your argument here. For a group of people that are typically feminist adjacent this seems like a really weird thing to have a completely different, and frankly anti-woman view on. “Trans women” have biological advantages that are at best competitively unfair, and at worst potentially harmful and injury causing. Women should be able to choose if they want to compete against someone like that.

Let’s be so crystal clear. “Trans women” were born as men and most developed as men only to identify as something else later. So yes, born women (real ones) should be able to chose if they want to compete against someone who, as you admitted, has a large biological advantage that could possibly hurt them in a contact sport. Saying “women against women” is a reductionist stance which you act naive to.

it doesn’t matter if it’s an advantage or not. doping isn’t allowed because they’re choosing to gain an advantage, that’s why it’s unfair. trans women don’t choose to be trans, which is why it’s fair for them to compete. thats also why it’s fair for cis women with male T levels to compete. because they’re women who haven’t chosen their conditions or bodies. advantages matter when they’re chosen.

it matters for two reasons: if it’s an advantage and if it’s chosen. Michael Phelps possessed a massive advantage in his flexibility, which allowed him to use his feet like flippers. it’s fair for him to compete, that’s how his body is. but you’d say it’s not fair for someone to wear flippers to the competition. same advantage, but one is a choice.

you’re overtly overestimating how much of an “advantage” it is to be a trans woman. there’s more impactful advantages that no one ever brings up as an issue, like Michael Phelp’s flexibility. you only care about this issue because you see men as inherent more athletic than women, and because you don’t know how HRT works.
