- Most of that team’s first playoffs -#1, #2, and #5 ranked defenses in the playoffs so far - those have been 3 of the worst games we’ve seen from them all year, and Maye has still done enough to win them -Mack Hollins (#2WR) was out for the second half of the season and the offense looked way better once he came back - Good teams find a way to win even when they look terrible, and they’ve continued to do that throughout the season
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying this team is inevitable like it was when Brady walked into the game, but they’re a much feistier team than anybody wants to give them credit for. Neither of these teams were expected to be here at the beginning of the year, so proclaiming this to immediately be a one sided affair wouldn’t be the way I went if I were a betting man
Don’t get me wrong, Seattle is a good team. But Sam ‘Seeing Ghosts’ Darnold? Their #1 RB is out. Their defense slightly outranks NE but their offense is worse. JSN is going to be covered by Gonzo (39.6 pass rating against this postseason) all game, and the other side with Carlton Davis (22.3) isn’t a much better option to challenge (spiking every pass attempt for the whole game is a 39.6 pass rating btw). Something has to break
The defenses the patriots played had a non existent offense and patriots have a strong defense therefore it is way easier to outscore a bad offense with an elite defense than it is to out score a good offense with a mid defense Patriots are not a good team and have no depth on offense maye realistically has barely any targets Seahawks were also a underdog and that was because the nfc was stacked this year the average nfc team this year is miles ahead the average afc team
Diggs being a clear #1, Mack Hollins putting up 600 yards while missing however many games, Kyle Williams and Pop Douglas both presenting as deep threats at various points in the season, Hunter Henry, one of the most productive TE’s in the league this season, 1400 yards and 16 td’s across 2 the two main running backs (plus 400 under center) is no depth on offense?
