ALSO TRUUUE. I have a special interest in p0rn(no clue if yikyak auto deletes for that so just being safe), mainly the illustrated stuff, and there’s some really good art out there. And as an aside, people also seem to assume that if media has a focus on sex it’ll only be about sex. There’s some games out there that nearly made me cry .
My take is that erotic media is valid but “fetishistic intent” is not great, especially when it’s done to people. To fetishize a person is usually done by a powerful group to an oppressed minority due to how social power works. Does it have artistic value? Sure. Is it still “good” even though it might fetishize and objectify minorities? No
There’s one game called the forest of love that has a big focus on the characters interactions and history and does have some genuinely heartwarming moments where they all come together to brave the events of the game, but it IS a feral furry game with decently accurate anatomy to the animals the characters are based on along with a lot of kinky stuff so it’s certainly not for everyone on the sex side of things
I didn’t say having a fetish was bad. I’m saying that objectifying others is the bad thing, not having sexual thoughts. I’m talking about sexualizing someone (or an entire group of someones) without consent and in a clearly dehumanizing way. Like racist or homophobic depictions in media that rely on racist or homophobic sexual stereotypes. Ex: “all Black men are cheaters,” “all queer men are hypersexual,” “all lesbians are predators,” or the fiery Latin lover stereotype
