YUP. its the whole "ughhh i hate hookup culture im a true romantic...to each their own, but i would never do something that DIRTY and DEGRADING...bring back yearning! teehee!"

a lot of my progressive friends do this. they dont question their uncomfortability with sex and how engrained purity culture is into their psyche. they justify their judgement and misogyny on the patriarchy.

I would never do a hookup but that’s fully a personal thing because I’m lame. I think others doing casual sex is awesome and cool and that they should keep doing it. Sluts keep the world turning and they’re an essential part of our ecosystem

I’ve heard people talk about it in a way where they act like consensual sex is self objectification and demeaning to the participants in some way, and therefore people should abstain from sex outside of a relationship (aka common religious ideas wrapped in the idea of “empowerment” and “self respect”)

Goddd that. And it only gets worse when they’re talking about kink. Framing it like anyone, especially women, who engages in kink is some poor soul who doesn’t have self worth and only views themself as a sexual object. Like. Hey your not being woke just because your feigning concern, your just being judgemental
