I hate cream cheese simply because cheese shouldn’t be a cream (I have never had it). Can you do the recipe without it?

A lot of people who bake/cook a lot are aware of certain foods have densities/textures/tastes and that can affect the recipe so if this was something where the cream cheese was needed and couldn’t be replaced I wouldn’t try it but if it could be replaced with something then I would.
