“ignoring history” do you think the events of the odyssey are actual greek history? there’s magic and fucking cyclopses in the odyssey you dumbass. i think you can handle seeing a single trans person and two black people in a fantasy film.
That’s the problem. Directors have TOO MUCH freedom nowadays. If it’s getting to a point where republican royalty like Sir Christopher Nolan are ignoring history and putting black and trans people in their movies on top of that, we need a studio to say no

Honestly idgaf but it’s more historical fantasy cuz it is based in history. If anything its closer to like mythology. The Odyssey was not written as a fantasy book basically to homer it was probably historical fiction. Regardless these people are just stupid and want a reason to have white only movies

the odyssey is based on legends of the aftermath of the trojan war. i’m sure there’s a lot of truth in those stories, but i wouldn’t call the odyssey historical fantasy. i’m both a big literature and history buff and i think that kind of outrage is just lame.

Yeah but what is true at least is the groups of people involved, regardless the outrage is for sure lame
