I’ll agree with a caveat. Henry Cavill is a better pick for Superman. It was the dark and gritty tone that brought down his performance, not the actor himself. Seeing Gunn go with Corenswet instead of Cavill feels like if Fox had recasted Ryan Reynolds for 2016 Deadpool because of X-Man Origins.

Yeah, absolutely not. Cavill was a fine cast for Superman, but he was far from as good of casting as Corenswet is. On and off-screen, David feels like Superman and Cavill just doesn't have that. Cavill could have been good with a better script and director, but he does not exude Superman energy the way Corenswet does.

You’re entitled to your own opinion, of course. He’s definitely not like, the perfect cast. (Like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for example), but I just thought he was better. In truth, Christopher Reeve WAS Superman, and I can always be content in just watching the OG movies whenever I want to watch what I feel is the epitome of Superman.
