My favorite one is that the only sex scene in the entirety of Band of Brothers is during the same episode where they find a concentration camp. HBO gonna HBO I guess lol

It makes me so upset. It’s like directors and writers are trying to rub it in that these fictional characters are getting laid when we can’t. The movie “Heat” does this in like three separate scenes, one of the times being between a NEO NAZI and a MINOR. It’s just fucking infuriating.

I actually think those are proper sex scenes. It’s the character indulging himself in the newfound culture around him. The sex scene in Je Tu Il Elle is just pointless lesbian sex made to troll 1960s audiences. Not to mention said director was a Feminist and Marxist.

It's not about it being taunting at all. it's about explicitly (pun intended) appealing to the lowest of lowbrow by directly provoking instinct and sense rather than the intellect whatsoever. And because that for sure made me sound like a snob, let me also add: it wastes time that we could have to advance the plot or have more action scenes
