I literally said I get that it’s their character arc but I don’t want to watch someone piss me off for an hour 😭

Just because you can look at it and say “character arc” doesn’t mean that it’s well-constructed. OOP is kinda right, if writers start their character in a too annoying or unlikable place, the development is going to be A) unrealistic B) unsatisfying or C) all of the above. Characters can have unlikable traits, but they still need to be compelling in some way for the audience to be engaged in their story.
