I miss realistic set design.
Nobody lives in what clearly is a 10 million dollar nyc flat while interning out of college.
Miss when they actually trained to make it relatable, clutter, grim, poverty and all.
Anyone else tired of the overly sterile appearance of modern movies? Oversaturated colors, extremely photogenic actors even in scenes where it makes no sense, fake backgrounds and overreliance on CGI even in movies where it doesn’t need to be?
Can you give some examples of the first part? I feel like it’s gone the opposite direction, used to be super unrealistic in a lot of cases. Compare the apartment in Big 1988 to Peter’s in no way home. Just one example ofc

The loft on New Girl would be about 15k per month.
It’s in a safe, trendy and somewhat upscale neighborhood in LA. Penthouse, expansive windows, 12-15 foot ceilings with wood beams, and a guest room.
A teacher, bar tender, and cop could not afford that.

I do think BigBang Theory gets it right. But is still think it feels a bit too perfect.
