Hi guys two things can be true at once. Communism in theory can be absolutely viable and the best economic system to put the power into the hands of the people and the soviet union can ALSO be a terrible state.

The only slight correction I would give is that Americans are *a* primary beneficiary. *glances at Western Europe* I do feel as if Europe is somehow largely overlooked in this discussion. As if those countries don’t also seriously benefit from imperialism. 100% agree otherwise

People lived through that shit. I don’t have a doubt that you’d deny the Holocaust too if Hitler pretended to be a communist. The Soviet Union wasn’t even a communist state.

While I do not speak Russian myself, I do actually learn about the horrors of the Soviet Union from Russian people! I also had informal second hand lessons from somebody who had studied under a survivor of the Soviet Union!

When you’re at constant risk of being slaughtered, imprisoned, or deported for simply saying the wrong thing to the wrong neighbor (who’s incentive to report you btw), I wouldn’t really consider that a utopia. It’s actually quite similar to the US and ICE in that way!
