
That’s not the point I was making. I agree that ppl who go after trans ppl and plus sized ppl in a dehumanizing way are absolutely chasers. My problem is that the way the term has been overused. There are ppl who absolutely fetishize and dehumanize twinks and muscley ppl yet there’s no term for that. It’s just seen as normal and expected. But yet we have terms like “chub chaser” “trans chaser” and it’s been applied to ppl who do have preferences but don’t humanize them. 1/2
The point I was making is that the term chaser I feel like has grown larger than it was ever intended to be. It’s no longer just about ppl who fetishize and dehumanize ppl from marginalized communities. But it’s now grown to be used by many to shame those who are stepping outside the romantic/sexual norm thus further marginalizing already marginalized communities and making taboos out of preferences for communities that conform to body/gender/etc norms.
