I feel the term chaser has honestly just become a way of further marginalizing already marginalized groups within the community. Like how come ppl who have a preference for bigger ppl are “chub chasers” but we don’t call ppl who like jocks “ab chasers.”

I’ve been noticing that too, there’s a difference between having a type/preference and objectifying people, only valuing them for whatever feature you’re looking for

I’ve truly never seen anyone call someone who isn’t a chaser a chaser. Do you have examples?

no but actually it also kind of normalizes the fetishization too, like do these people think it's more ok because they have a community of people who aren't interested in people for who they are but for a stereotype or for the potential for a power dynamic or whatever? I think someone calling the person who caused them harm "a chaser" is so valid but it's overused in other contexts.

i've seen a lot of people (including trans people) who are afraid to say they don't exclude trans people from their dating pool because they're afraid of being called or feeling like a chaser

I’m part Asian and when I tell people I’m talking to that some say “I don’t really know what to say to that cause I don’t want you to think I’m a chaser” like buddy that would be a long con!
