I think a lot of people would benefit from the ace understanding that you don’t have to be attracted to someone to have sex with them and it doesn’t make you any less straight/gay/bi/whatever to do so
Trying to explain to my straight male friends that that the believing it’s not as gay to top as it is to bottom is just just misogyny and homophobia but this is literally all they have ever known

OP here. Agree with this too actually. I said in the comments that the entire concept of gender to me is absurd in a way that is comedic yet scary. I feel it asserts a lot of heteronormativity even though it completely contradicts itself. I think if we are going to follow the narrative of man+man=gay, man+woman= straight, woman+man/woman= bi, then why all the sudden are we having this doubles standard about the roles in the relationship

Therefore with the belief that I feel it asserts a lot of heteronormativity even though it completely contradicts itself. I think if we are going to follow the narrative of man+man=gay, man+woman= straight, woman+man/woman= bi, then why all the sudden are we having this doubles standard about the roles in the relationship. However I ultimately believe gender is absurd in how culture is a major influence on the reality of gender for everyone

Also I feel the societal need to label love between two consenting adults is so arbitrary
