you think that people aren’t going to bring this up again? or that just arguing directly against them in their comment sections instead of having broader conversations about queerness and poltical consciousness is an effective way to deal with these issues when they pop up?

this exact conversation comes up every single week. it’s a revolving door of discourse and just arguing with the post in their comments when they pop up isn’t an effective way to address the issues with political consciousness in the queer community

i hope you understand though that while this can be done in good faith, it's exhausting to fight the same fight every single day and can very very easily turn people away from the community when all they see is fighting, even when something is resolved and put to rest. sometimes the best thing to do for drama to to let it stay dead instead of reviving it to make sure no one ever talks about it again. when reviving it, what ends up usually happening is the flames growing bigger and ppl (1/2)

i get that and i understand why it makes it really tempting to talk about it until it is completely solved, but it never works. it ends up dividing and polarizing ppl further and creating more drama and fanning the flames. it's exhausting to see the same arguments and the same people argue the same points so often and the less it happens the better bc these ppl aren't going to change their mind and they're just doing it to cause drama
