I GOT MY PERIOD
Ladies pls I need ur help and no judgement, me and my bf were drunk and had sexy time. He finished in me and I was ovulating. I took a plan b the next day but I’m so scared I’m pregnant and my period isn’t coming for like a week. What should I do for now

YAY!! 🩷 as a girl who lived thru this, the rest will depend on how your hormones react. plan b is a HEAAVYYY pill. it says it doesn’t work during or after ovulation as well, jst as a future. heads up. 😓 plan B messed me up SO bad. i got headaches, cramps, almost threw up. and my period was unpredictable for a year 💔 your hormones get so messy, and you’re lucky if you’re not affected. 🫧 anyways HEAD UP POOKIE CUS U DID IT 🫶🫶

I have nexplanon and the only downside is spotting constantly, I only had it for a month and I heard it goes away after a while. I used to have debilitating period cramps so now I don’t get those which is a huge plus. Talk to your doctor and see if it’s right for you but it’s super convenient I would say!

btw use a condom if you’re not on birth control! you never know when you’re ovulating, and the pullout method is only around 80% effective bc of human error. the only way to really know if ur ovulating is from test strips or measuring basal body temp, and even then be aware bc sperm can live in your body for 5 days

Happy for you! Still take a test 3ish weeks after you had unprotected fun. There is a tiny, tiny chance that any bleeding is hormonal/implantation and not an actual period. Best to find out as soon as possible so you can look into termination options if needed. For the future, plan b doesn’t work if you’re ovulating — it only prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation (which it can’t do if you already ovulated). xx

That’s correct - it prevents/delays the egg from getting all settled. If the egg is already settled, it doesn’t do anything. It’s **not** an abortifacient, which is important to emphasize bcos they’re gonna try to take away plan B next :( I’m pro-choice regardless but making sure that people know that plan B isn’t an abortifacient is the best way to protect it

implantation bleeding is rarely as heavy as a period!! and if it is, it’s indicative of a much larger issue. don’t listen to misinformation! if anything your period came a bit early because you took the plan b

Thank you!! Yeah it’s definitely not as common to have heavy implantation bleeding and it can often be indicative of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, but thats also why the pregnancy test is important. $10 is definitely worth the peace of mind and/or the early indication of medical issues

Nexplanon is the most effective birth control. The other commenter was saying they had cramping issues before nexplanon and it’s resolved after. I’ve also not had much cramping at all since getting it seven years ago (I’ve changed out multiple times). You can feel it in your arm with your hand if you try, but I’ve never felt it *from* my arm.

For me personally, having it replaced is the worst part. It doesn’t really hurt bcos they numb the area, but I’m very squeamish. I fainted during my flu shot last month lmfao

How do they replace it? Do they remove and then just shove it back in? I feel like that would be definitely worse 😭

i don’t think it works at all during ovulation apparently there’s only a 30% chance you get pregnant overall even on your highest fertility day. seems to be luck;)

Don’t apologize for the question! I love it. I do feel it in my arm, at first it was weird but you feel it more in some positions more than others. When I used to get cramps for the first two days nothing helped but laying in bed with a heating pad and taking over the does of pain killers I’m supposed to have daily. I have not even gotten my period and no cramps since I got it inserted. I have been spotting nonstop now but it’s only a little bit. I just use a panty liner everyday.

Also, it works different for everyone, some people said it completely stopped their period for years, some said it got irregular and unpredictable. It was the best option for me and I don’t regret it. You need to give your body time to adjust to the new hormones. 6 months.
