okay what is and what isn’t aave these days? as someone in the south i look up lists and half of it is just southern slang? like i saw the word y’all on a list once and now im just genuinely confused. like some things yeah thats aave but a lot is southern

before social media was a thing all i knew it was as southern slang cuz i didn’t know aave was a thing. after i got on tiktok i learned a lot of things i thought were southern slang were aave. apologies
