HELP! My pc broke literally a day into spring break and I just got a new game 😭 The ram lights up but nothing else turns on. My motherboard has light indicators and flashes orange which is the ram. I have DDR5.

Hi OP, why did it fry? I built my own PCs before and never had that happen. I want to get into AI and invest money into a good pc later on and sometimes I do wonder how long it’ll last.

Only thing I haven’t replaced on this build is my power supply and my graphics card. Warning don’t buy a prebuilt and do lots of research. The mobo and the cpu are compatible models z790 intel chip slot.

I had to replace them when my original mobo fried and the cpu I had wasn’t compatible.

I have no idea it was always clocking in the 80s when I gamed and I play in like 12 hr stretches 😅 I saw something that said the mobo settings pushing too much power and just the default being really high and over clocking it. Which I hadn’t checked bios in a while but I’m pretty sure I turned stuff down but I didn’t want to mess with it too much. When we took it off it had obvious discoloration.

Ah good to know. RTX 6000 pro is the premier AI card. The key is to wait for the next version which is 3 years to enjoy AI

I got a computer that is 13 years old. Only thing that went bad was the power supply and everything else works. My gut feeling is a new AI rig will hold up like that or a pricey investment breaks.
