HELP! My pc broke literally a day into spring break and I just got a new game 😭 The ram lights up but nothing else turns on. My motherboard has light indicators and flashes orange which is the ram. I have DDR5.

The game I got was the Legend of Khiimori my pc met all the minimum spec requirements and it crashed on me 3 times first was the gpu 2 times was the app. It’s still in early access and pretty buggy. I don’t know if that has anything to do with my pc breaking. I was playing yesterday morning took a break and came back to it like this.

Update it’s been 3 days and still broken brother didn’t get any thermal paste and I don’t wanna take it apart myself. With the old cpu when I touched it I bent the pins 😭 I’m dying I’m so bored

Any chance you could’ve overheated the power supply? Sometimes people skimp out to cut costs, but when all the power in the house is being used if it can’t draw enough it’ll take only a few minutes of the cooler to be off before the CPU overheats

Did you try other easy troubleshooting methods? There are many videos on youtube that can take you through far more measures than anyone could hope to list through on this app

Definitely completely unplug before you start trouble shooting

Ok it was the cpu light so we’re gonna paste and resit it and hopefully not bend the pins like I did last time 😭😅

Probably won’t do anything until tomorrow my brothers gotta get the thermal paste and he’s still at work. And he already said he won’t wanna do it when he gets back.

Most likely culprit is either your mobo or psu though, though it really could be a plethora of things, hope you figure it out!

I don’t want to break it. Things are too fragile and expensive and I can’t afford to break them. I don’t have any thermal paste. Everything’s plugged in. I don’t want it to bend any pins.

It is ofc ofc lol I’m not that dumb front and back panels off. Most I did was clean the dust but I have to take the cpu cooler out and basically take the whole thing apart so I’m just gonna wait until one of my brothers can help me.

Totally understand, some easier things with less chance of damage would be reseating memory and trying to boot with only one of each stick installed, clearing your cmos, making sure none of your power cables have come loose. I wouldn’t worry about CPU too much until you’ve eliminated other points of failure, generally it’s not the CPU causing problems (always a possibility though)

Your fans trying to spin up and failing in combination with your memory lighting up indicates to me a probable power delivery issue where your PSU is only pushing out a fraction of the voltage that it should be. I doubt it’s a cpu heating issue as usually you’ll still get a boot and your PC will shut down shortly after when your cpu temp hits its high temp threshold unless it’s already completely fried
