It really bothers me how some people on TikTok are calling authors egotistical for not wanting their works to be uploaded on a massive Google Drive. I just feel like attacking authors goes against all the fanfic etiquette I know

Someone coded a site that looked almost identical to Ao3 that was temporary while the shutdown was happening. I don’t know all of the details, but apparently however they were getting fanfics (a lot of people said AI might’ve been involved) was done without a lot of authors’ permissions and forgot to make protections for the content so the site was taken down
