Of course!!! Historically, children (girls) were married off at 10-15, so obviously that means that I’m a pedophile because I read a history book about European monarchy! I hate that mentality…

sometimes books depict these things because people do experience it and they are trying to emphasize the hurt it causes, it’s not always endorsement i.e. lolita

Writing is also a form of coping and healing from trauma. All these pro-censorship people are literally telling survivors that they’re not allowed to write about their experiences because THEY feel uncomfortable.

that form of writing has been some of the most meaningful works i’ve read honestly. it’s a sensitive topic for sure but the presence of horrible exploitative material shouldn’t mean censoring the topic itself. in a way i think that survivors sharing their stories is one of the ways to challenge that without getting into the weeds of censorship
