As a guy I want a girl to change my mind. In some conditions it’s impossible to lose weight, and hard to lose weight even in general. But for height it’s actually impossible. So as someone that is the average height it’s hurtful seeing how many girls on apps or in general refuse to go out with people under 6 ft. Obviously I wouldn’t want to date someone like that but the point is that behavior is normal? Idk I digress

I think if it’s really THAT important to Someone they should ask but I think that applies for both. I know the discourse in the comments was about weight not looking the same on everyone but regardless I think if people wanna ask they can although both imo is silly

Asking a girl about her weight is just something you CANT do. Like in no universe is it ā€œallowedā€ socially. But a man’s height is the most commonplace of questions, they did a study and over 70% of girls on dating apps filter by height.

Fair enough yeah it is a social standard although I do think it’s odd cause personally if someone asked me I’d have no problem answering I don’t find it rude but to each their own

To take it a step further, if I workout every day and am athletic is it wrong to prefer or want someone who is also driven to workout and stay fit?

Not at all. You are allowed to ask for what you can provide. For me I workout for times a week and stay in shape I wouldn’t date anyone who’s not

I’m a girl but it doesn’t matter. Both of us can hold that standard

What are your thoughts on putting a weight filter on dating apps? Since there’s a height one? I feel like I’ve been wrongly radicalized but it seems like A LOT of girls do agree with what I’m saying like yourself. 37% would agree with a weight filter

I have no clue about dating apps since I don’t use them but yea I don’t see a problem with it no point in dating someone if your scared their gonna judge you. If someone seriously wants a specific weight and you don’t like it yall aren’t a match. So I mean why not

What about an income filter?

Again I think ur only allowed to ask for what you can give so say if u make 100k u can only ask for in that range not like 30k a year asking for 1 million. So if there was one it has to match u

Interesting thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions. I was trying to see where you’d draw the line 🤣 Would you personally only date someone 6 ft or higher? I feel like for something like Tinder (hookups) go for it, but it’s shortsighted to need that for a long term relationship. Pun sorta intended

For me I don’t do hookups and sure I mean I think taller guys can be cuter but I don’t really care about height all that much aslong as their taller than me and I’m 5’4 so I’m not asking much with that haha. If it says anything my ex was 5’7 and I didn’t care at all

Hey #2, as a guy who is taller than 6 feet, I empathize with shorter guys who get rejected because of their height. It’s really shitty for someone to make you feel inadequate because of immutable characteristics. However, anyone who is interested in someone *solely* based on height is a shitty person, and not someone to get involved with AT ALL, not even for a casual hookup or anything like that for (generally) a variety of reasons.

In some ways, being average height gives you a bit of an automatic filter against those kinds of shitty people. The right person for you will not give a rat’s ass about how tall or short you are, they’ll love you all the same.
