It’s funny how asking for weight is a problem when it’s something that’s literally changeable😭 why get offended either it’s just a number

I see your point. If she asked about his physical characteristics, she shouldn’t be offended by him asking about her physical characteristics. On the other hand, it’s always been frowned upon to ask a woman how much she weighs. He should have just asked her own height in return.

I’m 5’5” (female) and when I went for my physical my dr said my weight (140) was normal / healthy. But I have a feeling if I told a guy I’m 5’5” and weigh 140 he would think I was fat 🤷‍♀️

Comments are missing the point. It’s not about the fact that asking weight isn’t an accurate way of telling what someone looks like, it’s about the fact that body shaming is bad

Yall men are actually disgusting human beings the way you treat us. You don’t understand how hard it is being a girl in the first place not saying it’s not hard to be a guy but we have more struggles than you think and most of those struggles come from people like you. It’s not all about eat less move more and it’s not all about height. It’s about medical conditions and genes and family history. Some things aren’t our fault

It doesn’t matter if people carry weight differently or former fat girls fixed themselves. It’s all about respect. Why does it matter how much we weigh in general? Personality should be what matters. I’m a thicker girl and I’ve been struggling because i have pcos. It’s almost impossible to lose weight. being asked my weight makes me embarrassed because it shouldn’t matter and it’s something that I can’t fully fix even though I want to.

bc it doesn’t matter. unless you can see a person and how they carry weight it means nothing. 160 on someone who’s 5’10 vs 5’2 is going to look totally different. tbh two people who weight the same and are the same height will also carry their weight different. it’s not useful for anything other than making assumptions and judging

i never said it was lol it’s just silly to ask a question that doesn’t matter yk? like height is gonna be the same no matter what but weight changes from person to person. no one asking really cares about the number anyway, they just want to know if the person they’re talking to is fat and you can’t tell that just based off of a number

Stfu. 160 lbs on a 5f 4 frame can ONLY be within a certain range. Yes, some are more fit, but ALL THAT MASS IS SOMEWHERE. Usually fat. Coming from a skinny girl who used to be fat, STOP making excuses for the fatties to ignore being fat. It’s disrespectful to us who ACTUALLY fixed ourselves.

Exactly. People really don’t have a good concept of weight because it changes and looks different on each person. Height will always be the same. But people carry weight differently. Some in more attractive ways, some in less.

And yet you’re ignoring that there are people who do not have the resources to get the medical assistance needed to lose weight. It’s not just eating and exercise. Bodies are incredibly complicated. And she asked how tall. She shouldn’t care right? It’s how he looks that matters. Funny how she can ask about physical appearance but she blocks for doing the same. Idc if it’s weight, she opened the door about how someone looks so be a big girl and let that door swing both ways.

Disagree. She asked about a physical description that she cared about. He should be able to at that point as long as it’s not sexual. Yes, even weight although society scoffs at it. Ironic because if he was short, he couldn’t work on that like you can with a few extra lbs. He literally can’t change it. So to me asking height should be more offensive than weight, even if society doesn’t think so.

Then why ask about height? Why does it matter how tall a guy is in general? Personality should be what matters yet she still asked. It’s literally impossible for a short guy to change, not figuratively. Do you think short men are proud to be 5’5? Double standards are ridiculous.

Did I mention anything about height for men? No. I was talking about how women are being treated. But now that you bring it up yes it is wrong cause height shouldn’t matter. I literally mentioned nothing about that and you felt the need to start shit. Unbelievable

upvote 3 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #29 1h

I’m not defending either person cause both are in the wrong. But height I feel like is less offensive because it’s just being curious. This society has made things offensive. Height is being more curious and people don’t see that as offensive. Weight is usually being asked because it matters to who is asking and if you say a number they don’t like it means you’re probs getting blocked. Society has made different meanings out of what we say and ask.

First off ew that’s disgusting. It is ok to be bigger to an extent. If someone is laying around eating and not doing anything to help themselves then that’s not good. But the people that are trying to exercise and help themselves they shouldn’t be shamed or made fun of. No one should be shamed or made fun of. If it’s someone’s choice to not help themselves we can’t really do anything about that but that’s their choice

I exercise everyday and I eat healthy but im still bigger. Why? Cause of medical conditions and genes. And I don’t look the best cause of my height. But yk what? I’m not sitting around I take care of myself and I get great labs and my doctor says im healthy. Just because someone is bigger doesn’t mean they’re not healthy
