
Kinda but Texas was the catalyst. Them doing Longhorn Network caused Mizzou, Arkansas, and A&M to go to the SEC so they could get more revenue bc Texas was hogging it with LN. Then Texas joined SEC which caused OU to join which caused the BIG12 to scramble for replacements. ESPN being bros with SEC is an underlying issue/cause but Texas is far more to blame
Not the same thing for two reasons. 1. Up to that point SC wasn’t a successful program. They didn’t have a single bowl win and only had one double digit win season in program history. Them joining was a risk bc they were bottom feeders. 2. They joined from being an independent thus not causing conferences to shift. They only joined with Arky so the SEC wouldn’t be uneven. Just a geographical fit
