Inclusion of g5 teams into the top 12 is meaningless for those g5 teams to begin with because they will lose in round 1. Oregon is already a 21 favorite against JMU. Ole Miss already beat Tulane 45-10 in the regular season so the rematch will not be any better. The teams that are punished are 10-2 ND and 10-2 Vandy so that g5 teams that will lose anyways will be included.
Cignetti literally took JMU players with him to Indiana. It’s not that small schools have a lack of talent, it’s bc they have a lack of recognition and funding. How do you expect small schools to ever make money if you’re penalizing them for being in a weaker conference even if they have better records than other larger schools?
It’s not that they can’t play at that level lol. Again, bigger schools constantly poach and take advantage of smaller schools and take their players and coaches. How can a small school possibly get their program money if they aren’t allowed to play in the CFP. Even if they lose their program still gets $5million
Small schools have to be able to earn their position in the rankings not be entitled because we feel bad for them. JMU and Tulane will lose in a dramatic style and it will be bad recognition not good. Also the money that they get for being in cfp round 1 will be split among every team in the conference so that will not be significant enough funding anything.
Winning a conference that is not respected is not impressive enough to be in the literal 12 best teams to compete for the college football national title. Winning the SBC title is impressive for the SBC but not for the national title contention. JMU will be eliminated in round 1 and for what exactly? All at the expense of ND and Vandy that have a legitimate argument to be in the top 12.
Yeah I think the ACC is a total mess and under my criteria they wouldn’t make it for simply not being elite enough with the top of the SEC and B1G. The ACC should expect to compete for a seed in the top 12 like B1G and SEC. Teams that fail to rise to that level of elite should not compete with the elite to earn an elite title like the national title.
It still provides their program with exposure. If you’re this adamant about it then why not make a separate championship? The programs you have mentioned have plenty of resources to help them come back in the CFP again. Small schools don’t make it often bc they don’t have as many resources
You’ve literally been arguing that small schools like JMU don’t deserve recognition while going to Indiana this entire time. There’s no point in arguing with someone who can’t understand how stupid that sounds. JMU’s performance in the FBS is the entire reason why Indiana is even good and why they got Cignetti in the first place.
You say JMU needs to earn their place but then say Cignetti left bc JMU isn’t good? He left bc a bigger program offered him more money that our program couldn’t afford. That’s exactly why smaller schools should be allowed to compete. You’re literally arguing for a monopoly over college football at the expense of small schools.
I can’t tell if you’re rage baiting or if you’re genuinely this dense. JMU performing well in their “shitty conference” is the entire reason why you got Cignetti in the first place bc we did well and got exposure for our program. Do you not see how it’s hypocritical to argue that small schools don’t deserve to get exposure? JMU getting recognition is the entire reason why Indiana is even good
The point isn’t even about Oregon anymore omg. The point is how stupid you sound arguing that JMU doesn’t deserve exposure when JMU getting recognition in 2023 is the entire reason why Indiana got Cignetti in the first place. If JMU is so bad then why were 13 of our former players taken to Indiana with Cignetti?
