It should just be the top 12 teams, no auto bid at all

College football is a sport where improvement is based mostly on belief. When the best teams from the “Lower teir of fbs schools” get a shot it means that recruits who are good but maybe not top at their position feel like going to a Tulane is worth their time. It is the best thing for the sport that these teams get a chance

I'm so tired of this opinion. This is how it works in every sport, you win your division you get a chance to compete. If that's the case then why even have conferences outside the power 4 be FBS

Should it happen in basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball etc.?

i’m not saying they can’t play in the playoff, they would just need to be top 12

Tennessee and Oregon couldn’t play with Ohio state last year. Funny enough, the biggest underdog, Arizona state took Texas to double OT

Should Tennessee and Oregon be banned from the CFP?

You do realize how hard it would make it for a G5 team to be ranked top 12? Th e committee would never let a 12-1 or even 13-0 G5 school get ranked over a 10-3 or 10-2 SEC team

this arguement makes no sense… tennessee and oregon were top 12 teams, so they made the playoff. simple as that.

Hear me out, this would be a big change but let’s make a separate g5 playoffs. no g5 schools has ever won the natty, and if ur telling me u think jmu or tulane is going to win it i wld tell u u r insane. if u tried to tell me that they were top 12 teams, i would tell u that ur insane. and i think thats fair. so why do we force them into the playoffs? g5 playoffs would be its own separate thing, more g5 schools would get a chance to compete and get their name out there, more revenue, etc.

At this point it would make more sense to just expand the playoffs to 16 teams or do the FCS method and have all 24 teams make it

in the end of the day G5 still wouldn’t win shit tho, and that’s kind of the point

Your kinda missing the point entirely. Just like in March Madness the 1 seed plays the 16 seed. Good teams are rewarded by getting to play worse teams. Oregon and ole miss getting to play g5 teams is the next best thing to getting a bye week. 2 years ago none of these teams would even be in the playoffs to begin with

playoffs should be the best 12 teams. i see no logic in letting worse teams
