When a man says he’s scared of being falsely accused I automatically assume he’s done some shit that can be considered assault and is scared of being called out. You are SIGNIFICANTLY more likely to be raped than you are to be falsely accused.

From reading the comments, I think the disconnect here is OPs verbiage versus intention. In the post she says “scared” but then elaborates in the comments— I feel like just saying scared indicates a “casual” fear or anxiety about it when she’s moreso talking about constant paranoia. It’s a very nuanced conversation honestly between when it’s justified (like in the case of Emmett Till) and when it’s simply projection, and I just don’t think people are recognizing the implied nuance in the post

because they aren't talking about Emmett Till. the kind of guy who openly talks about how "women are always lying" and "guys get falsely accused ALL THE TIME" is not someone being racially profiled, it's someone who listens to 200 hours of Joe Rogan a month (and probably has other opinions on Emmett Till!)
